In the heart of nature
Nestled in the Landes de Gascogne forest, ideal for walking (40 kms of trails) and cycling (50 kms of marked and developed cycle paths), the Orée des Landes is ideally located to enjoy it all year round.
The campsite is located on the most beautiful coastline of the Atlantic Coast, 1 hour from Bordeaux and Spain, only a few minutes from the 10 km of fine sandy beaches of Mimizan and less than 10 minutes from the nature reserve of Arjuzanx where multiple outdoor leisure activities can be practiced on 400 hectares accessible freely and all year round (swimming, fishing, boating, walking, horseback riding, etc.)
Activities for the whole family
The region has been awarded the “Family Quality” label and is very lively with a full and varied calendar of activities throughout the four seasons. Come and enjoy the “Printemps des Landes” with more than 200 dates in 3 months: festivals, animations, walks, canoeing, paddle, discoveries and original experiences (landaise race, night horse riding) or the famous Féria of Dax, the biggest in the Landes, during 5 days, where conviviality and animation color the city.
Our history
Campers when we were young and in love with nature, we often explored all types of outdoor accommodation. First camping, then caravanning and finally in 2004 we bought our mobile home in a residential leisure park.
We stayed there for 3 years, a positive experience without fully satisfying us: the rents increased year after year, we were moved after a year to give us another plot, opening only 9 months in the year and therefore restricted access to the site … We had the impression of being owners in the investment without being able to enjoy it fully and serenely!
In 2020 we seized a great opportunity to realize our dream: to take over the Camping d’Onesse-Laharie in the heart of the Landes. Our ambition is to build a place as we had imagined it as mobile-home owners: in the nature, intimate, long-lasting, above all a sign of freedom, meetings and conviviality!

Notre histoire
Campeurs étant jeunes et amoureux de la nature, nous avons souvent exploré tous les modes d’hébergement de plein air, D’abord en camping, puis caravaning et enfin en 2004 nous avons acheté notre mobile-home dans un parc résidentiel de loisirs.
Nous y sommes restés 3 ans, une expérience positive sans pour autant nous satisfaire pleinement: les loyers augmentaient d’année en année, on nous a déménagé au bout d’un an pour nous donner une autre parcelle, ouverture que de 9 mois dans l’année et donc accès contrainte au site … Nous l’avions l’impression d’être propriétaires dans l’investissement sans pouvoir en profiter pleinement et sereinement !
En 2020 nous avons saisit une belle opportunité de réaliser notre rêve: reprendre le parc de plein air d’Onesse-Laharie au coeur des Landes. Nous avons pour ambition de construire un parc comme nous l’avions imaginé en tant que propriétaire de mobile-home: dans la nature, intimiste, dans la durée, avant tout signe de liberté, de rencontres et de convivialité !
